Foreign Doll Magazines?

Do any of you ever buy foreign doll magazines?

You know... the kind you can't read because they're in another language.

Every now and then I buy one of the Japanese ones,
because they always have great pictures,
and they'll always have some great patterns in them too.

This time I bought this issue of Dolly*Dolly:

It's got such cute stuff inside,
and one of the things is a Pure Neemo outfit!
How cute is this?!

The patterns are all in the back,
I just have to figure out how to make them XD
There are lots of other cute patterns in there too.

  1. Awww that outfit looks super cute ;w; Seems like a great magazine~ I haven't actually thought of buying doll magazines, but I'd certainly love to get my hands on some patterns and in general, cute pictures XD

    1. I really love the patterns in them, and the pictures, it makes me wish we had magazines like that here in the U.S... our doll magazines tend to focus on quite a lot of different brands from antique dolls to fashion dolls and sometimes Japanese dolls...

  2. I've gotten a few Dollybird issues, they always have patterns and craft tutorials. The Dolly Dolly issue that I got had a lot of azone photos but no patterns inside. There's a new 'Doll Japan' magazine too, but I've no idea what's inside the first couple issues so far.

    1. I do really love Dollybird, I've got a few of them too! This is the first Dolly Dolly I've ever ordered (uh, I think?), and I have to admit, a HUGE portion of it (especially compared to some of the other magazines I have) is advertisement. That was a little bit of a let down... but the patterns are so cute I'll forgive it XD

    1. I saw one once that was all hats for 1/6 scale dolls, and I wish-wish-wish I'd bought it!

  4. Those are cute patterns. I guess if they have pictures you could figure it out.

    1. It's true, they're very good about giving detailed pictures... but man I'd love them in English!

  5. Here in Podunk, I never see any of these magazines. I used to buy Hobby Japan at Tower Records back many years ago and my wife's favorite comics store carried a number of Japanese toy and hobby magazines. I haven't purchased anything like this in quite a while and aside from Japan-based retailers like HLJ, I'm not sure where I'd get 'em.

  6. I have been seriously tempted to buy one of those Dolly Dolly magazines to see what they are like but never have. Maybe if/when I go over to Japan again, I might grab some to read on the plane.
