Would you like to join the Adventurer's Club?
"What is it?" you ask?
The Adventurer's Club is a monthly photo challenge.
The
"theme" for the month is vague enough that you can complete the task
indoors if you're not a "drag your dolly out in public" kinda person.
ALL DOLL TYPES ARE WELCOME!
ALL DOLL TYPES ARE WELCOME!
On the FIRST DAY of every month, I will reveal that month's theme.
(well,
except for this month... since I didn't think this up until about
midway through January, and then wanted to plan it out, I was a bit
unprepared for this month -_-)
At the end of the year, there will be prizes given out based on level of participation.
*NOTE*
January is a "wild card"... since I put this one up so late, you can complete this one at any time throughout the year.

January Theme:
Weather
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
What kind of "weather" adventure will your girls have?
Feel free to interpret this however you like.
Maybe it's a picture of your girl in the middle of a storm,
or feeling "under the weather",
or weathering a tough situation.
It's up to you!
Don't feel like you have to have a masterpiece photograph either,
snap the shot with your cell phone, a point and shoot or a pro camera,
it doesn't matter, just as long as the resulting image is theme related!
How do you participate?
Simple!
1. Take your photo that relates to the theme
2. Share that photo with me (via email, posting a comment with a link, etc)
(In the righthand side bar at the top of the page, you will see a link button back to this post)
My email is: littlebearries@yahoo.com
Please feel free to include a little caption for your image that describes what is going on, as well as any link to your own blog or website, and your doll's name, if these are things you'd like to share!

I will then share it on the Adventurer's Club tab at the top of the page!
(You can also find a link button on the Adventurer's Club page that will link you back to each month's challenge)
Will this be for all dolls (including BJDs)? :)
ReplyDeleteOh yes! Any and every type of doll is invited to play along!!
DeleteHmmm... perfect day for this too since we're having a once-every-couple-of-years ice/snow storm. Of course, what we in the Gulf South call a "winter storm" would be laughable to those of you in the Northern Midwest. So, for now I'll say "challenge accepted"!
ReplyDeleteOoooh, haha, yeah, I should take a picture of our current weather... although the worst part is the temperature, which is somewhere around -30 with windchill!
DeleteI can't wait to see what you come up with!
I send you an email with the photo love this adventurer's club :) great idea :)
ReplyDeleteOh yay! I'm still waiting for it to show up in my Inbox, but when it does, I'll post it to the Adventurer's Club page! XD
DeleteOh what a neat idea! This will give me the push to try a challenge and as it's a once a month thing, I should be able to manage. Can we post the photos on our blog and link you to them? I am reading that we can but wanted to double check with you.
ReplyDeletePosting to your blog and linking is a great way to share! I'll be adding the images to the Adventurer's tab (with credit to the creator, of course!) So if there's a link, I'll include that so folks can check out your blog (and if you want to write a little caption, and share the doll's name, that's all awesome too!)
DeleteYeah, I thought a once a month challenge was more attainable than the "everyday" idea, lol! Plus I like the idea of all our gals (and maybe even guys) being out there and sharing in an adventure theme XD ... I'm always looking for ways to make this hobby more of a community thing!!
Oh, also feel free to use any imagery I post in your blog posts. I'm working on having some official logos made up for the Adventurer's Club, so the current image is just a sort of "intro" image XD
Once you do up the official Logo, I'll add it to my sidebar with a link to this blog post about it.
DeleteI love challenges but a lot of the time, they are a photo a day ones which are hard to keep up with.
Okay, here's my contribution, it's the first photo of him hanging from a tree branch: Gone with the Wind
I love the photo! I just got that little figma myself XD
DeleteNow, did you want me to add just the first image, and not the bonus one, or did you want me to add both?
Yeah... I'm already doing a bunch of daily things, so I figured one more and I might explode... but a monthly photo challenge... that I can handle, LOL!
Great idea, I love taking pictures of my dolls!
ReplyDeleteJust a question: if I already have a picture that fits the monthly theme, it is ok to submit it or only newly taken pics are accepted?
Yes! Feel free to use a picture you already have if it fits the theme for this month... I posted January very late XD
DeleteI would say that for future months, try for a new pic... but if you have one that you think is just the most awesome shot ever and it absolutely fits the theme, feel free to use that one instead XD
(In other words, whatever works best for the theme, lol)
DeleteOk, thank you! Right now it's snowing here, so maybe I can shoot a new one for the contest ;)
DeleteHi again, here's my entry for January theme:

Caption: "Melon is showing the snow who's boss by making snow angels~!"
Added!! I love it! That reminds me, I should have someone make a snow angel, lol... we've got all this friggin snow XD
DeleteYou and your awesome ideas!
ReplyDeleteI love community things, and it'll be a great way to get me off my *ahem* rear and out photographing dolls and not just figures. XD
Just one question: since this month started late, will the last day still be January 31st?
Oh no, I added a bit to the post, the first month is a "wild card"... since I started it so late. You can use images you already have taken that will fit the theme, or you can turn it in at any point during the year. :)
DeleteNext month's post is already scheduled to go, though XD I've got the rest of the year all planned out, LOL.
Hi!
ReplyDeleteJanuary is a sort of the "wild card" month, you can complete this one any time throughout the year... just let me know it's the one for January XD But February will be all ready to go on February 1st!!
What a great idea! I'm looking forward to seeing all the themes and entries.
ReplyDeleteMe too! (Uh, and I've got to get mine done today XD)
DeleteI'm pretty excited about the participation... I've always really loved community building events. I'm also pretty excited about the end of the year prizes I'm working on, LOL.
I reckon even I could cope with this Heather, count me in! Thanks for organising this, it sounds like it could be great fun and it will make me practice my photography more.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
X
Haha! Yes!! I figured once a month was a good, easy number... because you have time to really think about it and plan if you want... or you can snap something quick with your phone at the last minute XD
Deletesign me up!
ReplyDeleteI started a flickr group and an Instagram hashtag for it too XD
DeleteI love challenges! I'd like to join for the January challenge with this pic (I hope it's ok, as it's a boy): Snowman
ReplyDeleteI have written a blog post with bonus pics and info here.
