Friday Funnies #3: Why nothing gets done.

This one is just a one shot...

it's why nothing ever gets done at The Majokko Shop...

because right when we feel productive...

World of Warcraft announces a new expansion.

Prue is an avid player...

and what's more important:

Building the Majokko Shop...

or preparing her characters??

She's avidly embracing Panda life.

Anna: PRUE! Is that a REAL Panda you're sitting on????

It's not quite the wardrobe to Narnia...

... but boy is it close!

I CANNOT sing high enough praises for the work of Tony at

Miniature Treasures

He works mainly in 1/12th scale... but I asked him if he'd be willing
to make me a 1/6th scale wand cabinet for
the Majokko Shop, and he agreed...

and this is the beautiful piece he created:

It is made from antique English Walnut timber which was originally
part of a Victorian writing slope that was broken and beyond repair
so the cabinet is made of solid walnut dating from around 1880.

 

 

Ella decided to do a little modeling for me. :)

Inside there are 3 wands!

Two of them have Cornish Quartz topping them, the third has an Amethyst sphere.

Two are made of wood, one of bone (I'm sorry, I need a better pic of the one made of bone)

They are ALL beautiful.

(The wands are out of order... the Bone one should be on the bottom, and the crooked wooden one should be in the middle... I'm sorry Tony, I FAILED! *weep*)

Each wand has a painting behind it that correlates to the type of wand it is.

The corners are embellished with Paula Shell, which is very beautiful!

The bottom drawer is functioning and an excellent spot for storage!

In the center is a genuine carved Victorian cameo that was once part of a piece of mourning jewelry... this piece fascinates me endlessly.

This is by far, the coolest doll thing I own.

Tony is a master.

This piece is beautiful and filled with history.

Monday: Bout friggin time... if I had to listen to Friday moan about letters not arriving, one more time... well, let's just say someone was going to get her eyebrows plucked in her sleep.

Janie: Oh my! You wouldn't really... would you?

Sunday: You better believe she would... I'm going to go tell Friday about the letter.

Janie: 0_0

Sunday: *wanders over to where Friday is* Friday! There's a blog post you should read.

Friday: I doubt that. You have terrible taste in Internet humor.

Sunday: Wha?! No, you idiot, your penpal finally got one of your crappy letters. SHEESH.

Tuesday: *sitting off to the side* They're all idiots, Danbo... all of them.

My Plastic Fantasy: Getting Your Doll Out In Public!

I think she has some great advice!

I take my dolls out in public all the time...

but then, I was an art major...

and My Plastic Fantasy is 100% right that having a camera

justifies a LOT of weird behavior to people!! LOL!

Here are a few of my "out in public" doll shots!

At Acen, a huge anime con in Chicago.

For the record, I don't know these girls...

at all!

But they were dressed up as Madoka characters so
I asked them if they would mind posing for a pic
with my doll, Madoka!

They were happy too, so long as they didn't
have to stand up!

(They were so tired!)

My advice for people who are really scared to take their dolls out in public is this:
Tell strangers you're working on an art project.

It's like a free pass to be a total weirdo.
Seriously.

Friday Funnies #2: Is Someone There?

In today's comic... Anna is still stuck with the sneaking suspicion that this place,

is really, really weird... but there's work to be done,
so she can't really linger on the feeling.

Plush Product Review: Lurky the Murloc

Today is something a little different...

a plush toy review.

I would like you all to meet Lurky, the Murloc!

I have wanted one of these ever since I saw one in person last year at Gencon...

(ok, I wanted them before that...
but seeing it up close and personal just made me want one even more.)

So, when it was time to register for Gencon again this year,
I was also re-struck with the desire to own one of these
cute little baby murloc!

I tried to order one straight from Blizzard's site, but they were sold out,
so I ended up buying him from Ebay.

I'm pretty sure he's not a knock-off...

but if he is... he's the best made knock-off I've ever seen!

He is SO soft!

And his hands, feet and bum are weighted down with pellets, so he sits wonderfully and  has a great weight to him.

He also came with this nifty bag:

Which I love... and need to figure out a use for, other than carrying Lurky.

One of my favorite parts is his hang tag:

If you play Warcraft, you know that once you "right click" on this, it becomes one of your companion pets.... so yeah... I've added Lurky to my personal inventory list, LOL.

He's soulbound to me now, BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

He also came with this... and I've no idea what it is...

so if any WoW nerds out there do know, I would love it if you'd clue me in!

So, if anyone was ever pondering getting a Murloc of their own,

I HIGHLY recommend it!
