Let's Talk About Azone 1/3 Scale Shoes

So, recently Azone came out with some nice, simple, brown shoes
for their 1/3 scale girls,

and they were $15 a pair, so I ordered some.

When they arrived, I learned an important lesson,

which I will share with you today:

Azone 1/3 scale shoes DO NOT FIT
Volks Dollfie Dream (DD) 1/3 scale girls feet!

Now, while I knew that Azone 1/3 girls were 50cm,
to Volks' 60cm... I didn't expect such a huge difference in foot size!

Is this a tragedy?

No!

While Azone 1/3 scale shoes don't fit 1/3 scale DD girls,

they fit Mini Dollife Dream (MDD) girls fabulously!

MSD girls too!

Cu Poche Kirino

It's Cu Poche time again...

just a quick little post this time.

Since I forgot to show the box that Madoka came in,

I figured I had better make sure to take pics of Kirino's.

The Cu Poche boxes have super cute little round windows :)

The sides are much like figma boxes, with cute pics of the product inside!

And like figma boxes, the back shows off the figure and her extras!

Now I am pleased to introduce you to...

Kirino!

She looks so happy here... 

but I'll do another post on her where I think

we'll see a bit more of her personality. LOL!

Ex Cute Girl of the Forest/ White Cat Aika

Here's the newest girl to join the crew...

 Ex☆Cute ♪ Neko-San / Aika (White Version)

Other than being a part of the Forest Girl series, there is something else unique about this girl...
she is the first Aika to have this facial expression!

Usually Aika has a devious little smile like this:

and I love them both!!

Like all of the other Forest Girls, this Aika's outfit is made up of delicate, beautiful layers.

 I am *totally* impressed with the design and quality of the outfits from this series.

 

 Haha, it looks like we caught her in the middle of doing something bad XD

Here's a closeup of the adorable outfit detail... the tiny lace, the tiny bead buttons, the cute fuzzy purse, the triple layered skirt, it's all just exquisite.

She also came with this cute kitty hoodie/scarf/glove piece.

 And of course, the animal-appropriate tail attached to her bloomers XD

This tail has wiring in it, so it's very poseable.

She also came with the standard brown tunic that all these Forest girls are coming with...

each one is slightly different, but not by much!

I gather that it's the outfits they're supposed to wear in their "animal" form.

The first Koron is a Direct Store Release, meaning you can only buy her on location.
She will cost 11,550 yen and be released on June 14, 2013 in the Akihabara Store.

Sonico Figma

Let's take a look at figma!

Recently I got the Sonico figma,

so I thought I would share her box opening!

First up, let's get this out of the way:

WHO IS SONICO?

If you're in the anime figure/doll world,

you've seen this girl popping up everywhere.

I bought this figma because I thought she was cute...

but what is the character's history?

to find out... it's actually a pretty cute little history!

Now, on to the figma!

Figma are 1/12 scale jointed plastic action figures with

interchangeable faces and parts.

They're a lot like mini-bjd!

Let's start with the box!

Here is how the figma will first come to you:

Front of box, as you can see, Sonico is the 169th figma to be made!

Super cute side of box!

Back of box, showing off her accessories (ahem) and poses.

All figma come packed in these plastic pieces (that are not fused together like evil Barbie packaging),
the packaging holds all the pieces very carefully in place. It's a great system!

When you open a figma up, you might notice she's covered in plastic bits... don't worry!

That's just to keep the pieces from rubbing in transit,

they pull right off... usually without even having to take the figma apart!

Every figma I've ever gotten comes with extra hands and a stand,
as well as assembly instructions :)

Sonico came with 3 faces total, a hoodie version of her hair and a guitar.
Some figma come with more, some come with less :)

This may be silly, but one of my favorite things about figma is that they come with a bag

to store all the extra parts in.

Here's a little tip from me...
I put the extra faces in their own bag before putting them in the bigger bag, so they don't accidentally get marked by rubbing up against the other plastic pieces :)

Hah! Well... it's true. 

She also has quite a rack... if that's something that worries you, I assure you, Sonico is more well endowed than most of the figma. I suppose it should be noted, figma also come in "boy" flavor, LOL. (Like Link from Zelda, oh yes, I've preordered me a Link!)

Uhm... I don't recall Sonico's character description saying she was insane... -_-;;

Ah yes, that's much more in-line with her bio!

Making Clothes

I recently got a new sewing machine,

so clothes making mode has been achieved!

First up is Robin

She is a Dollfie Dream Sakuya

She's wearing a dress that I made, soon to have accessories
like a necklace and headband...

maybe some bracelets too.

Robin: Don't you think this needs a necklace? I think it does.

(The dress can be pulled up a little, of course, to be less revealing, lol)

Robin: It's cute and summery, though... I like it!

Me: Thanks Robin :) (because her opinion certainly isn't biased, haha!)

Next up is Jun,
she is a Dollfie Dream Rise
modeling a long-sleeved shirt I'm working on.

Jun: Oh, hey folks.

Me: Jun! You're supposed to be modeling!! -_-;;

Jun: Like this?

Me: Well... yeah... not the most natural pose, but ok.

Jun: Well, are we talking "Natural for me" pose?

Me: Yeah!

Jun: Ok!

Jun: Wooohoo! This is great, right?!

Me: Maybe I should have thought that through a bit more...

This tomboy should not be given a skirt -_-;;

Anyways, this is what I've worked on so far... the shirt still needs tweaking,
This red one is a prototype (first time trying out the pattern I made),
but for a first try, not too shabby!!
